Checking the status of a complaint

On this page, you can check the status of your complaint process.

The following complaints are available for consultation:

  • Filed in the complaints book of the institution concerned – after the 15-day period that the entity being complained of has to send the original complaint sheet to Banco de Portugal;

  • Filed in the e-platform ‘Livro de Reclamações’ – immediately after its submission to the platform;

Complaining about an institution

Submit a complaint if you believe that an institution or credit intermediary has acted inappropriately in selling retail banking products or services:

  • By filling out the complaints book, either the physical version at the institutions’ branches, or in digital form at www.livroreclamacoes.pt;

  • Directly to Banco de Portugal, by letter or by filling out the form available on this page.
