As part of 2018 Financial Education Week, Banco de Portugal, through its branch in Madeira, held awareness sessions for students and parents from Escola Básica 1/PE and Eng. Santos Costa de Machico kindergarten, in Machico (Madeira). These sessions took place on October 31.
Around 60 students from the 1st cycle of basic education, participated in a financial education game (“Gerir o dinheiro com o Tomás e a Clara” or “Managing cash with Tomás and Clara”), based on the Financial Education Workbook 1. This was followed by an awareness session for parents about the importance of financial literacy and of adequately managing personal finances.
