The Banco de Portugal: analyses the complaints and arguments of the entities complained about; requests further clarification from the entities concerned, where necessary; takes measures with regard to the entities where practices are contrary to the law; forwards the outcome of its analysis to the complainant, indicating whether or not the institution has complied with its obligations (even if it is unable to provide the complainant with details of its analysis as it is bound by the duty of secrecy).
