Banco de Portugal’s digital financial literacy initiatives in focus at “Global Fintech Dialogue”

Banco de Portugal took part in the international conference “Global Dialogue on Regulatory Approaches for Inclusive Fintech”, co-hosted by the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) and the Czech National Bank. The conference took place on 26 and 27 September in Prague and brought together representatives of supervisory and regulatory authorities, academia and the financial sector from various continents, as well as international organisations.

Over two days, the conference aimed to stimulate effective and productive engagement of the regulators and supervisors of developed and developing countries in converging policies and solutions that respond to the opportunities and challenges of financial innovation. Participants agreed unanimously on the need for technological development to be accompanied by initiatives aimed at promoting the digital financial inclusion of bank customers.

Lúcia Leitão, Head of the Banking Conduct Supervision Department of Banco de Portugal was a member of the panel on “Financial Capability and Wellbeing in the Age of Fintech”, presenting the digital financial literacy initiatives developed by Banco de Portugal, with emphasis on the #TopTip campaign.
